Your Computer Can Help Research To Fight COVID-19 By Folding@home

Believed to have originated in the province of Hubei in China, the SARS-CoV2, which causes the disease now known as COVID-19, has spread all over the world, infecting more than 1-Million people and claimed more than 100,000 lives around the globe.

A vaccine or cure is nowhere in sight right now, but the world’s greatest scientists are racing against the clock and are doing their best to come up with a solution against this invisible enemy. So to hopefully hasten the process of understanding the virus and advancing the scientific knowledge about it, we urge the gaming crowd to download folding@home and start lending their gaming systems‘ extra clock cycles for the research on SARS-CoV2.

Folding@home is a program that connects a computer to an international network that is populated by other computers that are focused on a single purpose – to collectively work on large computing tasks for simulation projects with a sole purpose of speeding up and broadening the research about a certain disease or virus, which in this regard is SARS-CoV2.

Apparently, gaming desktops with powerful graphics card(s) and CPUs can contribute to the research just by lending some of their gaming PC’s processing power via the folding@home program. PC gamers can opt to lend a chunk or a certain percentage of their GPU‘s processing powers to a research through the folding@home program.

Maybe a vaccine, a treatment, or hopefully a cure would be developed quicker with the help of this program. If you are up for the task, then you may want to download the folding@home program now.

You can download the program from the folding@home website.
