AMD Launches Radeon RX 5500 XT
December 13, 2019The release of the Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition hinted that this is bound to happen. AMD is launching today the latest addition to its Radeon RX 5000 series of graphics cards, the Radeon RX 5500 XT.
The Radeon 5500 XT will come in two variations – 4GB and 8GB. With its RDNA design and being under the 7nm process technology, the Radeon RX 5500 XT and RX 5500 are expected to deliver increased efficiency and performance with up to a 12% increase in performance-per-watt over the previous generation RX cards.

According to AMD’s internal testing, the Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB was able to outmatch the competition’s offering on AAA game titles such as Battle Field 5, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Gears 5, The Division 2, World War Z, and Borderlands 3 with up to 30% fps difference depending on the title. However, we’ ll have to test this out for ourselves to see if this is true. The Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB and 8GB variants are set to be globally available today with a global SEP of $169 USD for the 4GB variant and $199 USD for the 8GB variant.
