AMD Launches Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Reveals New Mainstream Lineup

AMD launches Ryzen 7 5800X3D, an 8-Core processor based on the Zen 3 architecture, that features AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology. The technology is said to enable the new Ryzen 5800X3D to deliver 15% more gaming performance compared to processors without 3D V-Cache.

Alongside the launch of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, AMD also announces a new line of Ryzen 7, 5, and 3 processors. Three of which are based on the Zen 3 architecture, while the others are of Zen 2 architecture. The new mainstream lineup is headlined by the Ryzen 7 5700X with 8-cores, 16-threads, and 36MB of cache memory. Next to it is a 6-core, 12-threads Ryzen 5 5600, the lower tier variant of the Ryzen 5 5600X but with more cache memory. The new lineup will also feature a Ryzen 5 processor with Radeon graphics in the form of the Ryzen 5 4600G.

AMD 300 Series Motherboards Now Support Ryzen 5000 Series Processors

Additionally, AMD reveals that the aged 300-series chipset will have support for the previous and latest Ryzen 5000 series processors. This means, the enthusiast X370 chipset, mainstream B350, and entry-level A320 will all be able to support the Ryzen 5000-series processors announced in 2020, and especially this year’s Ryzen 5000-series processors.

Availability

The new Ryzen 5000-series lineup is expected to be available beginning April 4 of this year. All Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 in this new lineup will come with an AMD Wraith Stealth cooler. On the other hand, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D will have a later release date of April 20 and will carry an SEP of $449 USD.
