Xiaomi Releases the Mi 9 in the Philippines

Xiaomi has recently unveiled its latest flagship smartphone in the Philippines, the Xiaomi Mi 9, which is a combination of powerful performance and eye-catching design. It runs on the industry-leading Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 platform and features an AI-enabled triple-camera setup which contains the latest 48-megapixel Sony IMX585 sensor, and is the world’s first smartphone to have 20W wireless charging capability.

The new Xiaomi Mi 9 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, which is based on the 7nm manufacturing process, partnered with the latest Kryo 485 CPU that can run its clockspeed up to 2.84Ghz; and is equipped with an Adreno 640 GPU and LPDDR4 2133Mhz RAM. The combination ensures a more than 300,000 score on Antutu benchmark.

Along with its beefed-up internals, Xiaomi’s newest flagship boasts an all-curved back with a holographic design, which allows the Mi 9 to fit comfortably on the hand while looking vivacious at the same time.

The Mi 9’s screen is a 6.39-inch Samsung AMOLED Dot Drop display, which has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi also fitted a new in-screen fingerprint sensor under the AMOLED display, which is 25% faster and responsive than the previous iteration.

Its camera combination of 48-megapixel Sony IMX586, 16-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, and a12-megapixel telephoto camera reeled in a score of 107 on the authoritative DxOMark website. The combination also pushed in a video score of 99 on DxOMark for video, which put the Mi 9 at the number one spot on the DxOMark.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 also prides itself to be the first in the world to adopt a new wireless charging coil that enhances its wireless charging efficiency and stability and lets it achieve the highest 20W charging output at peak. Wired charging, on the other hand, achieves 70% capacity in just 30-minutes and 100% in just 60-minutes. Fast charging via 27W wired charging support is achieved with the QC4+ standard, which is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 platform.

The Mi 9 comes in a Piano Black, Ocean Blue, and Lavender Violet colorways. It retails at PHP 22,990 for the 6GB/64GB version, and PHP 24,990 for the 6GB/128GB version. It rolls out on Mi authorized retail stores on March 30, 2019, and will soon be available on Lazada.
