AMD Reveals Philippine Pricing of Ryzen 3950X, Ryzen Threadripper 3960X and 3970X
December 1, 2019AMD recently announced the latest additions to its 3rd-generation processor portfolio, the Ryzen 9 3950X, Ryzen Threadripper 3960X, Ryzen Threadripper 3970X, and Athlon 3000G. The 16-core 32-threads Ryzen 9 3950X will be the top dog of the mainstream desktop offering of AMD, while the Athlon 3000G leads the entry-level lineup, and the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X and 3970X will be the latest additions to AMD’s HEDT offering.
The Ryzen 9 3950X, as mentioned, takes the throne of the mainstream desktop line of AMD. It comes with 16-cores and 32-threads running at 3.5GHz base clock that can boost up to 4.7GHz. With its 7nm process technology, the Ryzen 9 3950X brings in improved single-threaded and multi-threaded performance, enabling it to be a HEDT contender but on a consumer-friendly price point of $749 USD or around PHP 42,000 after direct conversion using current USD-to-PHP rate and adding 12% tax.
Raising the bar for the HEDT market, the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X with 24-cores and 48-threads clocked at 3.8GHz that boosts up to 4.5GHz and the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X with 32-cores and 64-threads, which is clocked 100MHz lower than the 3960X at 3.7GHz but with the same boost clock frequency of 4.5GHz, were initially revealed with $1399 USD and $1999 USD price tags, respectively. The suggested Philippine pricing for the 24-core Threadripper 3960X, according to AMD Philippines, will be PHP 86,000 inclusive of 12% VAT. While the 32-core Threadripper 3970X will have a PHP 123,000 (12% VAT inclusive) price tag.
The current HEDT lineup will expand next year with the release of the 64-core/128-threads Ryzen Threadripper 3990X.
